Routines / Client Contact Rules
Client Contact Rules
Before Jane sends an email or LinkedIn message to a client contact, she reads the contact rule recorded for that client and for the channel the job came through. Where an agreement allows contact with procurement only, she addresses the to procurement. If no rule is recorded, Jane asks in chat and saves the answer on the client record.

- 1
A client message is due
The routine starts before Jane sends any email or LinkedIn message to a contact at a client.
- 2
Jane reads the contact rule
Jane reads the contact rule recorded for that client and for the channel the job came through. Where an agreement allows contact with procurement only, she addresses the message to procurement.
- 3
Every message follows the rule
Each message goes only to the contact the client's rule allows. Jane saves every client's rule on the client record and reads it from there for each later message.
Questions about Client Contact Rules
What does the Client Contact Rules routine do?
Before Jane drafts any message to a client contact, it checks the contact rule recorded for that client and drafts only to the people the rule allows.
What happens when a client has no rule recorded?
Jane does not draft the message. She asks your team in chat, saves the answer on the client record, and uses it from then on.
How are jobs from a VMS or MSP handled?
The job is recorded under the end client, and Jane applies that client's rule for the channel. Most MSP agreements bar direct contact with the hiring manager, and Jane follows the rule you record.
Does Jane send messages on her own?
No. Every email and LinkedIn message is approved by a person on your team before it is sent.
